Their growth in 2025 was anchored by a 37% surge in Islamic fund value and the sukuk market surpassing the $1 trillion milestone, achieved despite a challenging macroeconomic environment. This expansion was underpinned by three key drivers: persistent sovereign and corporate funding needs across the GCC and ASEAN regions, a historic performance boom in equity and commodity markets, and increasing participation from conventional international investors seeking higher yields and structural diversification.
Strategy: The DIFC bank will focus on Middle East and South Asia (MEASA) region to serve 450m Muslims in Middle East and 650m Muslims in South Asia, then the bank will also setup office in Astana International Financial Centre, Kazakhstan to offer investment banking and wealth management services to 70m Muslims in Central Asia, an office in Xinjiang China will be next to offer similar services to 25m Chinese Muslims and a Labuan Malaysia office to serve 240m Muslims in Southeast Asia.
Updates: Currently talking to Central Asia banks to setup a JV in Tashkent for Islamic banking where Gitcoin token holders will own the economic rights to the bank profit according to the shareholdings and in talks to list on Binance Alpha and Upbit.
